Essence of Christmas

“We wish you a Merry Christmas. We wish you a Merry Christmas. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.” It is just a simple but a meaningful song you could hear from a group of children or even the old ones caroling outside our houses.

The 25th of December is considered as the Christmas Day. This is the season to be jolly and a season for us to give love and share our blessings. It’s time to cheer and let’s all be happy! It’s time to wipe the tears and let’s all be jolly! It’s my favorite time of the year! Happy Birthday Dear Jesus!

One song says, "Let's all give love on Christmas Day!" This is indeed true. Christmas is not just a time to make ourselves happy but it's also a time to give happiness to other people. We also have traditions for the Christmas. One is the blissful, bright, shimmering and wonderful blaze that the Christmas lights and other wonderful decorations which give us delight during this season. It was indeed very wonderful and amazing how these lights give us pleasures of happiness as we celebrate the Christmas Season. Many of us also enjoy singing carols to every house in our community. It really excites me as the season is fast-approaching. The most exciting part is the Christmas Eve and the Noche Buena !!! It's a tradition to most people around the world to prepare a simple yet enjoyable meal for this occasion. It is not important to prepare lots of foods as long as we are with our loved ones as we share our love with them. Christmas time is also a time of giving gifts and exchanging cards. It's not with the costs of these gifts but with how a giver gives it to the person with sincerity, and love with his/her whole-heart.

Let's all celebrate the Christmas Day with love, happiness and thanks. We thank the Lord for the blessings he gave us and we should also ask forgiveness for the wrong things we did. Christmas day should not only be celebrated once a year. The essence of this day should be practiced every day, now and forever. Let us make everyday a Christmas Day. 

CLIMATE CHANGE

The world now faces one of the most complex and important issues that deals with climate change. The impact that human have on the world has literally change the climate. Even though climate change is partially caused by the natural cycles of Earth, humans are still a major part of it.

To start with, there will be increased health risk. Rising temperatures will cause longer and more common heat waves. Rising sea levels will cause flooding and increase standing water, which can serve as breeding grounds for malaria and other parasites. Floods will also increase coastal erosion and destroy people’s home. Thousands of people will be displayed and coastal erosion will accelerate. Longer and more intense heat waves will cause heat-related injuries. Food supplies are also at risk. For all of these changes that in the end affect everyone.

Stop climate change need to be taken now because we will be experience its effects during our lifetimes. Since it has not affected us very much, not very many people are aware of it. We need to raise awareness now, because once we see its effects, it will be too late.

Despite the fact that climate change is progressing, there are still ways that it can be slowed down. To start with, the government should work to raise awareness about climate change. And what people can do to help. They also may not realize that they can make a difference by doing little things, like recycling and cleaning.

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities.

All of us, have the rights to live whether they are rich or poor, beautiful or ugly, are all equal, right? Equality?  For me it is having that same treatment equally and leveled. It when favoritism is absent and leveled treatment is there. Equality makes life better and happier to live with and easier especially when discrimination isn't present. Imagine life when all people are seen as equal individuals, wouldn't it be nicer?

As part of a nation and the society, we have rights which are to be constituted properly to obtain unity, equality and stability among us. We are all human beings and we should be treated equally and fairly whether we are poor or rich. In democratic countries like the Philippines, the rights of people are very important. We should all make a stand against discrimination. We have our own strengths and weaknesses. We should accept this fact so we should respect our individual differences. There’s a need of the process of just fair, and humane transformation of our society in order to obtain genuine equality among men and women.

We all have our rights but in accordance to these rights, we also have our duties and responsibilities to obtain the equal development and transition of the society and so, we can also have equal opportunities to develop fairly in our healthy ways. Let’s all take our counterparts to make a stand against discrimination so that we stand together through peace and unite ourselves to attain equality in the society we live in.

Language plays an important role in human life. One tries to acquire, learn and use language as a means of communication, and simultaneously as social symbol of humanity. By using language someone could make statements, convey facts and knowledge, explain or report something, and keep social relations among the language users. These indicate that by means of language, people can express their ideas, feeling, information through communication.
           As one of language in the world, English is considered and applied as international language. It is understood and spoken almost everywhere in the world and it has become the key instrument of globalization. As students, we learn English are intended to obtain various knowledge, to comprehend and understand the textbooks learned in English, to gain knowledge and skills, and to be ready enter to the university. Foreign language skills, and in particular the English are a good tool in work, school, on vocation, when building a career or promote your own business.

Although, there is a lot of people around the world today that won’t admit how important English for the world I’m one of those many that understands the importance of the English language. “ENGLISH WILL MAKE EVERYBODY SURVIVE AND GO ANYWHERE”. This expression reminds us how importance of English for human life is. 

My Teacher, My Hero

          Everyone has someone to keep them on their own feet as they walk through life. Normally, it would be your parent or friend. In life, people may come and go, some will be remembered and some are forgotten. But one thing is for sure, I'll never forgot the person who is known as my second parent.

            Teachers are usually there to impart knowledge and give you an opportunity to move on with life. My life would never be perfect. I would always experience the roller-coasters of being a human being but I would always remember one thing that indeed I was blessed. I was blessed to have people that would guide me. I was blessed to have people who would accept me for who I am. They are always there to feed me a bit-full of information that I might use someday. The person who sacrifices for our own good and yet the laziness that I've shown them the tiredness that they have seen from me.Teachers don’t only teach to us but they are also sources of moral teachings. Inside and outside the campus, our teachers are our models. In relation to health and wellness, the teacher is expected to have and project a good state of both mental and physical health. Teachers are treasures in our society. Let us help them be at their best so that they too can help bring out the best in our children, in their students.

          Our second parents, our teachers have helped a lot in the contribution of our success. They will forever be a treasure. This teacher’s day was a good way of expressing gratitude to our beloved teachers whom are the reason why we have accomplished most of what we have accomplished until the present.

          Nature is an integral part of our lives. But even we appreciate the blessing, we forget that we are plundering the treasures and denying people the pleasure of enjoying nature in all abundance and variety in the future. 

          We, people in the present, have almost disconnected ourselves from the natural environment.Maybe because, technology and industry become more and more evident to us that our natural environment becomes so foreign. As we saw in the televisions, newspapers, or may have heard from our radios that there are rampant of disasters that are happening now a days that can greatly destroy our world and may affect our lives as well. Particularly that our country is prone to natural disasters as long as anyone can remember.There are numerous occurrences of floods which reigned the cities and many provinces.Not only that, but also earthquakes and volcanic eruption caused too much casualties and millions worth of extensive damages.There are many disasters and catastrophic effects which have great and tremendous impact to the environment. So we must set, awake ourselves to the reality, and we must resolve these problems as early as today. “Save our earth!, save our nature!”, we used to say that line but we do not actions.It is our great responsibility to improve, preserve, protect our environment and do actions. 

          We must help each other and save the nature, even in simply planting trees today.We must spread the awareness to people.Picking up waste is just a small step for us but it is a giant leap for the environment so we must do it. We must realize that we depend upon our nature or environment and we needed it, as well as they needed us.Let us protect and build it up more beautiful.

Modern Day Hero

          A modern day hero is someone who wants to make a difference in the world. Someone who you look up to, someone that you can model yourself after. Someone who sets an example for you with a good set of morals and values. Someone who strives for their dreams and it is determined to do what they believe in.

          My hero has taught me through her life that life is hard, but you should always try your hardest. From her, I have learned to never give up. My hero has not only taught me great lessons but she has done some extraordinary things herself. She has always been there for me, always tried to provide the best for me even in hard times. She shown me right from wrong and has provided me with everything I need to succeed. She raised an amazing family, and the whole time she strived to be the best. Every day she makes sure that my sister and I are well taken care of. She is dedicated to helping me in any way she can. Sometimes I get frustrated doing my projects, but she still ties to help. Life is hard, but she faces everything she does with a brave, courageous heart. She would do anything to protect us. She loves and cares for us more than anything in the world. As a single parent, she provided my needs. I never heard her complaining. My mother is this person to me. She is my hero because she has made me into who I am today.

          Most people consider a hero someone who has saved a person’s life. My mother breaks this mold. She is a hero in all her own ways. Without my mother I would not had any of the values that she has installed in me over the years. Because of her I strive to be the best and to give all myself for others. I can only hope one day to be this big hero for my own children.
